The City divided – reunified, making history with every step. Capital of Germany, but also a mecca for daydreamers and night owls. Berlin is full of contradictions, a building site of the future. The city has over three million inhabitants, more than any other city in Germany. Although many historical buildings were destroyed during the second world war, Berlin still has a cultural richness unlike any other city, sustaining a fascinating and diverse selection of museums and historical monuments.

On the first evening after your arrival you will dive straight into Berlin’s night life. Berlin offers a wide range of possibilities to go out. Restaurants, pubs and clubs of all kind and for every gusto invite you. According to local legend, there's a kneipe (pub) on every corner.

On July 14th, a sightseeing tour gives you an impression of the city's dimensions and its many different aspects. The tour starts in the western city centre with the legendary Kurfürstendamm and the KaDeWe department store. It continues to the Bauhaus Archive, the diplomatic quarter in the Tiergarten and, of course, the Victory Column. Berlin's "New Centre" between the western and eastern city centers includes the new government buildings and the Reichstag building with its glass dome, along with Potsdamer Platz, which is flanked by the Sony and Debis buildings. In former East Berlin the tour takes you past the Brandenburg Gate to Unter den Linden, Berlin’s grand boulevard. In Nikolaiviertel (Nikolai Quarter) you can get some impression of historical Berlin, Friedrichstrasse with its glamorous stores represents new elegance, while Alexanderplatz with the Television Tower is a prime example of the building style of the communist era. In the evening, you will dine at the restaurant “Alte Pumpe” (old pump), amidst of 130 year old vessels and driving wheels. On the next morning, you will leave for Hamburg.
