Lithuanian Youth Association Representatives from 23 countries attend Congress, held every 3-4 years, to set guidelines for the next World Lithuanian Youth Association (WLYA) www.pljs.org, to elect the Executive Council and to set the next Congress' location and date. Association members are of ages 18-35 who are part of the World Lithuanian Community, www.lrs.lt/plb. The 1st Congress was held in USA, 1966, lead to the creation of the WLYA during the 2nd Congress, 1972. WLYA is a not-for-profit association to organize Lithuanian youth living and/or studying outside of the Republic of Lithuania. In 1992, WLYA was the 1st Lithuanina Organization to be acreddited by the United Nations.
